Music Matters

CAMA’s signature education initiative, Music Matters, is a music appreciation program offered to Santa Barbara schools. This program addresses the dire need for more music education in our schools after years of cutbacks to arts funding. Dr. David Malvinni, musicologist and Director of Music Education, designed the three-year curriculum for fourth through sixth graders, A Classical Music Journey for Young People.  For 2011-12 the program is taught in a dozen schools by a dedicated team of docents and music teachers.  Please contact the CAMA office to find out how CAMA’s program can be implemented at your school; we are now able to offer the program to schools beyond the Santa Barbara area.
